Ultralight backpacking and digital audio

Coming from a traditional audiophile background, I embraced audio streaming with enthusiasm. But a few years of experience have taught me something and now I have to change some habits. So this is an advice for fellow audiophiles too, don't make too many playlists! The whole point of going digital is to be practical. And if you have 559 personal playlists like I do, things get really messy. It is nice to have a playlist with all the different versions for each song you like. You can compare. You learn a lot. But it's also nice to open the app on your smartphone and start listening. And that's partly why you want to go digital. And it won't be ready quickly if you have 559 personal playlists. Music needs to be at your fingertips. Or you keep your vinyl drawers and do the whole ritual every time you want to listen to a record. One way or another, compromises are hardly satisfactory here. If you want to go the digital audio route, you'd better use the ultralight backpack! That's my advice. Now I have to follow it and start deleting playlists.
